Part flagship, part concept-store Lush Shinjuku is the latest Asia addition to Lush's global anchor shops. More than just your standard 'big shop', Shinjuku aims to provide an experience led, interactive approach to retail.

Explore a four-story shopping experience that builds in intensity as customers move through the floors. Using scent, light, sound and colour to create a multi-sensory journey that plays with different ways of experiencing and navigating a retail environment.

IDENTITY

A full spectrum, prismatic identity that looks like Lush but feels like Tokyo. Instantly identifiable as Lush it focuses on exploring an abstract, digital execution of bath art. The result is a sclable, interactive visual style that reacts with the space, changing and morphing to reflect the mood, theme, or time of day.

WORD-FREE VISUAL WAYFINDING

Lush Shinjuku saw the launch of a fresh, borderless approach to shop navigation. Using a combination of integrated video screens and a flexible, icon based area guide to create an innovative language-free wayfinding solution. With it's tourism and tech-savvy residents Tokyo is the perfect place to test out new ideas.

IN-HOUSE INTEGRATED TECH

Over half of Lush's product's are Naked, meaning they've worked hard to reformulate almost all of their cosmetic range to create a packaging-free alternative. The result of this has a Wonka-esque visual appeal that can have a bit of an "I want it, what is it?" effect if you're unfamiliar.

To combat this a secondary tier of visual wayfinding was developed in-house in the form of integrated Raspberry Pi powered digital screens. These screens loop content that help visitors to navigate what products are where and how to use them.

DIGITAL INTERACTION

To reduce printed signage the only info alongside the products in Shinjuku are the name and the price. Scan any Naked product with Lush Lens for instant ingredients, videos and reviews in your language.

SUSHI BELT CONSULTATIONS

Flexible but fun, the sushi belt consultation station is where you come to find the perfect product for every need. Focusing on everything from holy grail skincare to the perfect bath cocktails.
